We will be opening our doors January 2020 and are recruiting at all levels. Our work is at the intersection of computational biology, statistical inference, genomics and neuroscience. We are looking for group members who are motivated to work in a highly collaborative environment with the option of cross-training in both computational and experimental techniques. Knowledge of biology and neurobiology is welcome, but not a necessary pre-requisite.

Graduate Students

If you are an incoming CBE graduate student at UC Berkeley (PhD or Masters) interested in learning about our work, please write to me directly. I am affiliated with the Berkeley Biophysics Graduate Group,  the Center for Computational Biology, and the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute and we welcome graduate students from these programs. Students with strong mathematical and programming skills are strongly encouraged to inquire.

Undergraduate Students

I enjoy working with and mentoring undergraduate students who are interested in research. If you are a UC Berkeley undergraduate in CBE/MCB/CS/Physics/Math, please write to me if you wish to discuss research opportunities.

Postdoctoral trainees

We are looking to recruit highly motivated postdoctoral trainees. Graduating doctoral students with experience in one or more of molecular biology, computational and systems biology, and neuroscience are strongly encouraged to apply.  We are especially eager to recruit candidates with a strong track record in biology that are looking to expand their skills in computational analysis, and are willing to lead the setting up for the laboratory's experimental efforts. Please write to Karthik with a statement of interest and a CV.

Laboratory Staff

We are looking to hire a laboratory scientist to help set up our new laboratory, and advance our experimental efforts.  Candidates with an undergraduate or a master's degree in the biological sciences with experience in molecular biology techniques are encouraged to apply.
